Job summary

The City of Brownsville Airport is seeking an experienced Airport Director to manage and direct all aspects of Brownsville Airport operations. The role includes developing policies, negotiating with airlines, and establishing the airport budget to support safe and efficient air travel.

The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree, several years of airport management experience, and familiarity with FAA/TSA requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred and a related field is expected.
• Minimum five years of work-related experience and two years of FAA Part 139 airport management experience.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations, TSA procedures, and airport operations best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develops policies and procedures for revenue development, leases, and airport functions.
• Prepares annual operating and capital budgets for City Manager review within budget.
• Directs maintenance, security, and operations to meet regulatory standards.
• Oversees grant proposals, DBE participation, and funding for airport projects.
• Represents the airport to stakeholders and negotiates with airline companies.
• Ensures compliance with TSA/FAA requirements and prepares reports for officials.
