Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Repairer I to repair, replace, and construct items for carpentry, roofing, upholstery, and related airport building maintenance projects. This is a developmental role with potential promotion to Repairer II and beyond.

Work is performed in the Structures and Grounds Division at Reagan National, Dulles, or the Dulles Toll Road, requiring physical effort, adherence to safety rules, and teamwork in a dynamic airport

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of carpentry and building trades; ability to construct/repair furniture and structures.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to work safely and follow safety rules.
• Experience with roofing, asphalt, masonry, and concrete work.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to train others on the job.
• Knowledge of materials selection for building trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry, roofing, and related building maintenance tasks.
• Conduct monthly preventive maintenance inspections.
• Identify and repair trip hazards and leaks.
• Assist with new construction and office renovations.
• Install and repair structures, walls, ceilings.
• Operate and maintain equipment and tools.
• Comply with safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
