Job summary

The City of New Orleans is seeking personnel to operate and maintain a range of equipment including mowers, sweepers, forklifts, and trucks, with a GVW under 26,000 lbs. You will supervise a crew and transport team members to worksites in non-CDL vehicles.

In addition to operating duties, you will perform light and heavy maintenance when not driving equipment and take on other tasks as assigned. Some shifts are alternating, and emergency call readiness is required.

Qualifications

• Original High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
• Two years of full-time experience operating a variety of small and intermediate equipment.
• Valid driver's license required and eligible for airport auto liability coverage.
• Good driving record with restrictions as stated.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mowers, sweepers, forklifts, man lifts, trucks, tractors, air compressors, HVAC equipment and refrigeration, and other equipment with GVW under 26,000 lbs; supervise a crew and drive them to worksites in non-CDL vehicles.
• Perform light and heavy maintenance when not operating equipment; assist with other tasks as assigned.
• Work alternating shifts; respond to 24-hour emergency calls; work indoors and in the field.
