Job summary

Menzies Aviation Indianapolis is seeking a ground operations team member to apply aircraft de-icing fluid, operate large vehicles, and ensure timely, safe de-icing services in coordination with flight crews and dispatch.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and readiness to work outdoors in all weather, including weekends and holidays, with a strong commitment to safety and quality control.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; or related experience/training.
• Must possess/maintain a valid driver’s license and airport identifications.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Able to lift and move up to 70 lbs.
• Work is outdoors; comfortable in all weather conditions.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely and efficient delivery of deicing services.
• Assist with the scheduling of employees.
• Responsible for checking aircraft for leading edge ice and frost.
• Apply deice fluid type 1 and 4 to aircraft wings, fuselage and tail.
• Drive large heavy vehicles around aircraft while deicing operation is being performed.
• Responsible for accurate accounting of deicing fluid transactions.
• Perform daily quality control checks on equipment and vehicles.
• Operate headset/radio to communicate with ground crew, flight crew and dispatch.
• Follow safety procedures and meet attendance standards.
