Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies seeks an Aircraft Deicer at Indianapolis International Airport. The role focuses on removing ice from aircraft, inspecting for frozen contamination, and applying glycol-based deicing fluid at multiple stations across the Northeast region.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • English reading, writing and comprehension required.
  • Must be able to verbally direct in English.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operations.
  • Inspect aircraft for frozen contamination after deicing.
  • Participate in pre-planning for de/anti-ice events and check equipment.
  • Ensure proper shutdown of pads and maintain logs.

The individual in this position inspects the aircraft for ice and for remaining frozen contamination after the deicing has been performed. He or she sprays the airplane down with the deicing fluid, which is usually made of glycol.Our employees receive the following, based on position and eligibility requirements:• 401(k) retirement plan with company match• Employee Assistance Program• Employee discounts & Tuition Reimbursement• Competitive wages• Flexible schedule• Career advancement opportunities & Mentorship program• On-the-job training• $300 referral bonuses - unlimited• myFlexPay - access to earned wages quicklyEssential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operation and make sure all company policies and procedures are being followed correctly;Uphold and follow the duties related to de/anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlines and IDS (including inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination);Participate in the pre-planning for the de/anti-ice event (perform checks on equipment, trucks, servicing equipment with fuel or glycol);Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and log books; that all maintenance issues have been logged and reported to maintenance and all proper shutdown procedures for the equipment are followed.Required Skills and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent preferred;Must be at least 18 years old;Intermediate computer skills;Maintain and treat all information as confidential;Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English;Must be able to verbally direct in English;Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives;Successful completion of all IDS classroom and OJT de-/anti-icing training.Certifications/Licenses:Valid driver’s license.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment:Prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles.Physical Demands:Must be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, crawl, climb ladders and/or work at heights in excess of 15 ft to perform role, repairs and/or inspections;Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms;Able to speak and hear efficiently.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a part time seasonal position.Travel:No travel is anticipated in this position.Security Clearance:Ability to obtain and maintain all security clearances required by Transport Canada or TSA and/or local Airport Authorities;Ability to pass pre-employment background screenings.Other Duties:This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
