Job summary

City of Albuquerque’s Aviation Department is seeking a Custodial Shift Supervisor to supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for custodial maintenance of City facilities on an assigned shift.

The role emphasizes ensuring work quality, adherence to policies, OSHA safety standards, and proper inventory, with opportunities to lead a dedicated team within a large, public facility environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Six (6) years of custodial experience
• One (1) year of lead or supervisory experience
• Specialized training in maintenance preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for custodial maintenance of City facilities on an assigned shift; ensure work orders are completed and documented.
• Establish schedules and methods for providing custodial maintenance services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
• Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures; ensure compliance with OSHA and regular safety standards.
• Perform the more technical and complex tasks of the work unit including the monitoring and inspection of City facilities to assess the quality of maintenance work being performed; note deficiencies and take proper action.
