Job summary

JGM is seeking a Safety Manager to develop and implement project safety programs for the baggage handling system installation and related airport construction projects. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, FAA/airport requirements, client standards, and company policies while fostering a proactive safety culture on the project site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of construction safety experience on large infrastructure or airport projects.
• OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred; CSP/CHST certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer the project-specific Safety Management Plan.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify corrective actions.
• Lead safety orientations for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FAA, airport authority, and client safety requirements.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while preparing detailed reports.
• Facilitate toolbox talks and ongoing safety training.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Coordinate emergency response planning and drills.
• Maintain all required safety documentation, permits, and regulatory records.
• Partner with project management to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to achieve zero incidents.
