Job summary

JGM is seeking an EWR Airport Technician to operate Passenger Boarding Bridges, aiding passenger boarding and disembarkation without exposure to the elements. Duties include coordinating gate details, testing PBBs, and adhering to docking procedures to ensure safe aircraft contact at boarding doors.

Applicants should be at least 18, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, hold a valid driver’s license, and be able to work a 24/7 schedule with background checks and an Airport ID badge.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Background check and drug screen required.
• Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport ID badge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and verify gate assignments and flight details for the shift.
• Arrive 20 minutes before arrival to check PBB parking position and safety per area rules.
• Perform testing to ensure PBB works properly with aircraft.
• Follow docking/undocking SOP and docking matrix to prevent collisions.
• Coordinate GPU/PCA connections with aircraft engineers and report verbally to avoid miscommunication.
• Maintain flight logs with daily timings and details.
• Monitor PBB level and cabin floor during loading/unloading and wait for the group before turnover.
