Job summary

PrimeFlight Aviation Services in Kahului, Hawaii is seeking a Baggage Handling Agent. The role covers loading/unloading luggage, operating baggage handling equipment, and sorting baggage by flight destination, all while following safety and security procedures.

Applicants must be 18+, legally authorized to work in the United States, and pass a background check and drug screen. A minimum of one year of customer service experience is required, with 24/7 shift availability and training provided.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, including written documents.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Ability to use electronic devices including iPads/Tablets, computers, and mobile devices.
• Effectively communicate both in-person and through electronic means.
• Pass a background check and drug screen.
• Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
• Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload passenger luggage and cargo on and off aircraft.
• Operate baggage handling equipment such as conveyor belts and trolleys.
• Sort and route baggage to the correct flight and carousel.
• Ensure timely delivery of baggage to and from aircraft.
• Inspect baggage for damage or security risks and report any issues.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures while handling baggage.
• Work closely with other ground staff to ensure efficient baggage processing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the baggage handling area.
• Collaborate with security personnel to ensure adherence to airport security measures.
• Participate in training sessions on baggage handling procedures and equipment.
• Coordinate with airline staff for special luggage handling, such as oversized or fragile items.
• Record and report baggage handling activities in accordance with company and airport regulations.
• Exceed PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
