Job summary

gategroup is seeking a Head Cook to prepare and cook a variety of food items for airline service, following recipes, and leading production staff on the line.

The role requires at least 2 years of experience in a high-volume institutional catering environment, plus recipe conversions and temperature logs to ensure safety and quality.

You will uphold sanitation standards, document inventory, communicate with supervisors, and contribute to a collaborative, efficient kitchen team.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree and/or cook certification preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience cooking in a high-volume institutional catering environment preferred.
• Experience maintaining temperature logs for all food items prepared is preferred.
• Recipe conversion experience required to accommodate daily production needs.
• Read, write, and follow food specifications and menu guidelines; communicate effectively with supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Assembles equipment according to airline specifications and procedures.
• Packages and prepares alcoholic beverages for airline flights.
• Keeps production areas in compliance with sanitation standards and customer requirements.
• Documents inventory in compliance with requirements.
• Follows directions and works as part of a team.
• Supports leadership in monitoring production quality and efficiencies.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
• Completes paperwork and related administrative duties.
