Job summary

gategroup is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead airline catering units with P&L accountability and a 700+ team in the Los Angeles area. Reporting to the VP, Ops, Hub BUs, you will drive performance, safety, and regulatory compliance across the unit while partnering with customers to deliver exceptional service.

This role requires 15+ years of management experience in in-flight catering or food manufacturing, a bachelor’s degree, and a proven track record in budgeting, operations, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• 15+ years of management experience in airline catering or related industry.
• Proven budget management for a single operating unit.
• Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.
• Experience managing a team of supervisors and managers.
• Customer service and account management experience.
• Labor relations experience required.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for all aspects of the business of the units.
• Drives positive relationships with customers of the business units.
• Ensures budgets are created, communicated, responsibility aligned and budget delivered.
• Researches local business arena and adapts unit within the local framework.
• Monitors, reviews and guides reports to form a high performing team.
• Develops employees through HR, Learning & Development and mentoring.
• Leads compliance with regulatory policies and procedures.
• Identifies root causes and creates robust action plans.
• Justifies expenditure proposals to improve the unit.
• Leads continuous process improvement initiatives for the unit.
• Works with HR for salary reviews balancing engagement and cost effectiveness.
• Monitors recruitment to ensure right people in right roles.
• Implements Executive guidance into policies and procedures.
• Completes HARPC/PCQI training per policy; ServSafe certification.
• Completes required company training including ServSafe Sanitation Manager Certification.
