Job summary

Flying Food Group is seeking a Cook I in Hawaii to support daily hot food production in a high-volume airline catering facility. You will follow recipes, safety guidelines, and airline specifications while maintaining quality and timely output.

The role requires 18+, a culinary background, and up to 5 years cooking experience with leadership exposure. Overtime and weekend work may be required in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Culinary degree or certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of cooking experience, with at least 2 years in a lead cook role in a high-volume environment.
• Experience with airline catering or healthcare/hospitality is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot food items according to recipes and airline specs.
• Apply proper cooking methods, portion control, and garnishing techniques.
• Requisition items and manage inventory with FIFO guidance.
• Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures including PPE usage.
• Lead, supervise, and train team members as needed.
• Support scheduling, labor management, and cost monitoring.
