Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. in Poway, CA, is seeking an Airframe Design Supervisor to lead a design team, own the development of airframe components, and coordinate with IPT and manufacturing to mature projects from concept to production.

The role requires extensive experience in aircraft structures, leadership, and collaboration across disciplines, with on-site work in California and a focus on cost reduction and DFM/DFC. A strong background in CREO/NX/MBD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in engineering from an accredited institution.
• 12+ years with bachelor's, 10+ years with master's, or 7+ years with PhD; substitutions possible.
• Proven experience designing composite or metal aircraft/spacecraft structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead a design team to sustain production and approve airframe changes.
• Own development of primary/secondary airframe parts and assemblies.
• Coordinate with IPT and other departments to mature projects.
• Interface with suppliers and other disciplines to develop design solutions.
• Mentor and develop staff; manage performance expectations.
