Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an engineer to design aircraft and airframe structures at the Adelanto prototype facility, supporting next-generation uncrewed aircraft.

You will perform CAD modeling (NX), structural sizing, design reviews, and documentation, collaborating with IPT teams and suppliers to move concepts from concept to production. Candidates should have a bachelor's in engineering, strong fundamentals, FE A experience, and the ability to work hands-on with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline required.
• Strong understanding of engineering concepts, codes, and theory.
• Ability to learn quickly and coordinate work phases.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• DoD Secret clearance required.
• Professional Engineering License desirable.
• Experience with aircraft and airframe design.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to conceptual and detailed design of prototype aircraft.
• CAD modeling (NX), structural sizing, design reviews and documentation.
• Develop aerostructures using first principles.
• Own development of primary and secondary aircraft structural parts using metal, billet and composite materials.
• Coordinate with IPT leadership, suppliers and other teams to mature the design from concept to production.
• Prepare Product Definition Packages and documentation for production.
