Job summary

Coast is seeking a driven Airframe and Powerplant Licensed Technician in San Diego, CA to perform maintenance, repair, and inspection of aircraft systems in compliance with FAA regulations.

The ideal candidate holds a valid FAA A&P license, 2+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, and will work Mon-Fri 5:30am-2:00pm, with duties including wiring, testing, documentation, and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • 2+ years of aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience with Cirrus SR2X/SF50 or similar is a plus.

Airframe and Powerplant Licensed Technician
Job Summary:

We are seeking a driven and experienced Airframe & Powerplant Licensed Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting the maintenance, repair, and inspection of aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. As a key member of our team, you will eventually contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.

The shift for this position is Mon-Fri 5:30am-2:00pm
  • Examine replacement aircraft parts for defects
  • Diagnose mechanical or electrical problems
  • Read and understand maintenance manuals and other technical documents and identify repair procedures
  • Repair wings, brakes, electrical systems and other aircraft components
  • Replace defective parts using approved tooling
  • Test aircraft parts with proper diagnostic equipment
  • Assemble aircraft components, perform required measurement and testing
  • Install system software and databases
  • Inspect complete work for compliance and performance standards
  • Train and mentor junior technicians in best practices and technical skills.
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of airframe and powerplant systems.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed, including maintenance logs and reports.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with other departments to ensure timely and effective communication regarding aircraft maintenance status.
  • Assist in the development and execution of maintenance schedules and procedures.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Physical stamina and agility to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and maneuver into confined spaces. The job requires fine motor skills, prolonged standing, and the ability to comfortably operate in awkward positions. Broad range of motion to reach, stretch, and maneuver tools inside small maintenance panels and compartments.

Pay:

$40 - $48 per hour (Based on experience)

Qualifications:
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance
  • Cirrus SR2X Experience/Factory Training a plus
  • Cirrus SF50 Experience/Factory Training a plus
  • Continental and Lycoming Experience/Factory Training a plus
  • Aircraft paint and refinishing experience a plus
Additional Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration Regulations
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to be proactive and identify problems on your own.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance practices, and repair protocols.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in the use of maintenance manuals, tools, and equipment.
