Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Engine and Parts Inspector for 2nd shift onsite at our East Hartford, CT facility. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections on turbine airfoils and related components, ensuring compliance with procedures and drawings.

You’ll work from established inspection methods, document results, and coordinate with production teams. The role requires a High School diploma and 2+ years in aircraft engine construction or inspections, with a strong commitment to quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years trades training in aircraft or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in aircraft engine construction, operation and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic dimensional and visual inspection of production turbine airfoils and related equipment.
• Accept or reject material based on findings and transport parts and fixtures.
• Follow written procedures to plan and perform dimensional, visual, water and airflow inspections.
• Use measuring equipment to verify dimensions and accept/reject parts.
• Maintain logs and quality assurance records as required.
• Perform routine servicing and keep inspector checklists up to date.

Engine and Parts Inspector 2nd Shift (onsite).

What You Will Do:

• Perform basic dimensional and visual inspection of production turbine airfoils and other equipment using specified methods and techniques.
• Accept or reject material based on findings. Transport parts, raw material and fixtures.
• Work from established written inspection procedures, drawings and other pertinent instructions to plan and perform dimensional, visual, and water and airflow inspections on turbine airfoils.
• Utilize standard measuring techniques and inspection equipment to verify accuracy of parts and accept or reject based on findings.
• Follow proper procedures to perform in-line checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that operation sheets are followed.
• Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment used in performing the work as necessary.
• Complete logs, quality assurance forms and other records as necessary.
• Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions such as inspector’s check list for upkeep.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of aircraft trades training or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in aircraft engine construction, operation and related inspection methods.

Qualifications we prefer:

• In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
• 2 years of aircraft trades training or equivalent experience and 2 years of work experience in aircraft engine construction, operation and related inspection methods.

This role is: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
