Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Airfoil Cell Operator – Baffles for 1st shift, onsite in East Hartford, CT. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections on turbine airfoils, accept or reject material, and transport parts within established procedures.

The role requires basic inspection skills and adherence to QA records. Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related experience (or a related degree with 0–1 years).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate in a related field with 0-1+ years related experience.
• Internal candidates within Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit have priority per the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic dimensional and visual inspection of production turbine airfoils and other equipment using specified methods and techniques.
• Accept or reject material based on findings.
• Transport parts, raw material and fixtures.
• Work from established procedures, drawings and instructions to plan and perform dimensional, visual, and water and airflow inspections on turbine airfoils.
• Utilize standard measuring techniques and inspection equipment to verify part accuracy and accept/reject based on findings.
• Follow procedures to perform in-line checks and verify dimensions and ensure operation sheets are followed.
• Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment as necessary.
• Complete logs, quality assurance forms and records as necessary.
