Job summary

Astronomer is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to join our field team and deliver world-class technical solutions that center around Apache Airflow. You will guide our largest customers through complex Airflow journeys, interface with Sales and Product, and ensure the platform delivers real business value.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, strong cloud and SaaS infrastructure experience, and effective communication with diverse teams while enabling customers to scale their data workloads.

Qualifications

• Cloud-native data architecture experience.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider API/tooling.
• Strong Git experience.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python/Go).
• Strong Kubernetes experience (GKE/EKS/AKS/OpenShift).
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Ability to read code.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with complex SaaS infrastructure at scale.
• Strong customer-facing skills.
• Understanding of network architectures.
• Experience with orchestration/workflows like Apache Airflow, Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or comparable tools.
• Infrastructure automation experience (Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible).
• 5+ years in data engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years in a customer-facing role.
• Experience with ElasticSearch/Prometheus/Vault.

Responsibilities

• Deliver world-class technical solutions centered on Astronomer products.
• Guide customers through Apache Airflow journeys and complex deployments.
• Act as the interface between Customer, Sales, and Product to ensure value delivery.
• Work with customers to translate business problems into scalable cloud solutions.
