Job summary

Milwaukee County seeks an Airport Operations Coordinator II at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport to join a team dedicated to safe, efficient airfield operations. You will perform daily inspections, coordinate snow removal, respond to incidents, and prepare reports to support airport operations.

Ideal candidates are adaptable, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills, able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, and compliant with FAA and TSA regulations.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in USA.
• Valid Driver’s License at time of application with the ability to obtain a Wisconsin Driver’s license within six (6) months of hire.
• Criminal history background check required for security clearance and unescorted access to secured areas of the airport.
• High School Diploma and at least three (3) years of experience in Airport Operations - OR - Bachelor’s degree in aviation management or related field - OR - at least one (1) year of experience in Airport Operations.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 20 lbs. and push/pull up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspections of airfield and airport facilities to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate snow removal efforts on airfield and airport facilities.
• Coordinate airport construction and maintenance airfield projects.
• Respond to incidents and accidents of various sizes and take charge until relieved.
• Complete assorted reports to document events at the airport.
• Coordinate VIP movements and special operations/events and anticipate operational impacts.
• Respond to terminal, facility, and security incidents as needed; assist Milwaukee County Fire Department as needed.
• Meet with airport users/tenants to resolve operational problems.
