Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Des Moines, Iowa team. The role focuses on site, road, municipal and airport projects with opportunities for involvement from planning through construction.

Responsibilities include airfield design, coordination with teams and clients, and mentoring junior staff while overseeing multiple projects nationwide. A US citizen is required, relocation offers support.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• US Citizenship required.
• EI or PE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil airfield design, municipal projects, site design and construction improvement documents.
• Coordinate with planning and design team members, contractors, and sub-consultants for ongoing planning, design, and construction projects.
• Perform civil design, planning, construction support, and client management services for General Aviation and Commercial Air Service Airports.
• Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of engineering and municipal projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation.
• Will be involved with projects from start to completion including planning, design, and construction administration, including grading, drainage, pavement design, specifications, and construction safety plans.
• Collaborating and/or coordinating delivery teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians.
• AutoCAD or MicroStation 3D modeling mentoring.
• Supervise, coordinate, and production of several projects concurrently.
• Coordinate with clients, funding agencies, state aviation officials, FAA, and local permit Agencies.
• Includes regular site visits during the design and construction phases of improvement projects throughout the United States.
