Job summary

Massport is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 25) to safely operate a diverse set of equipment essential to airport operations. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, safety, and teamwork to support airfield, grounds and facilities tasks.

Qualifications

Massachusetts CDL 'A' License required.
Hoisting license required.
Ability to read; basic oral, written and mathematical skills. Includes manual skills and the ability to operate machinery.
5 years’ airport related experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including plows, loaders, backhoes, and more.
Conduct landscaping tasks such as cutting grass, trimming hedges, and maintaining plants and trees.
Remove trash and debris from the airfield and performs painting and sweeping duties.
Assist in minor repairs, maintenance, and emergency response as directed, ensuring the airport's smooth operation and safety.
