Job summary

The City of Mesa is seeking an Airport Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform semiskilled and skilled electrical work on airfield systems, including high voltage up to 5,000 volts. You will install, repair, and test runway, taxiway, and threshold lighting, navigational aids, and related circuitry, while adhering to FAA safety requirements and City policies.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, coordinating with contractors, and responding to air-related emergencies 24/7.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience with high-voltage systems (up to 5,000 volts) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain airfield electrical systems and lighting.
• Repair and replace wiring, circuit breakers, switches, and fuses.
• Inspect electrical safety in hangars and ensure FAA safety compliance.
• Assist with airport improvement projects and supervise in absence.
• Respond to air-related and weather emergencies 24/7.
• Operate and test navigational aids and lighting such as PAPI/REIL.
