Job summary

RS&H is seeking an Airfield Civil Engineer I to join our Aviation Practice in Vienna, VA. The role focuses on the geometric design of runways, taxiways and aprons, pavement design, and related civil infrastructure for airport projects across the U.S. and abroad.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors/Master's in Civil Engineering, 5+ years of experience (2+ in airport design), and a PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience, with at least two years of airport design experience.
• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain PE license within 6 months.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and deliver airport projects of varying sizes and complexity.
• Initiate and maintain client contact and assist the team in winning work.
• Geometric design of runways, taxiways and aprons; pavement design; stormwater and utility infrastructure design.
• Coordinate with airports, airlines, FAA and other tenants; provide construction administration/management.
