Job summary

Garmin Salem, OR is seeking a full-time Aircraft Systems Engineer focused on HIRF and Lightning, leading avionics installations and certification efforts. The role requires a strong grasp of FAA regulations, avionics interfaces, and hands-on use of CAD tools like AutoCAD and SolidWorks, supporting Garmin’s STC initiatives at a hands-on level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
• Strong understanding of FAA regulations and ability to design for compliance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of avionics interfaces and their installations.
• Proficient use of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, FaultTree+, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead design or analysis of avionics and flight control systems installations and develop documentation for installations.
• Generate, review, or interpret wiring diagrams, routing schematics, drawings, and other data for Garmin STC projects.
• Coordinate with project leads, technicians, and team to complete tasks.
• Assist technicians in troubleshooting installation and wiring issues.
• Lead preparation and verification of documentation for certification and testing plans.
