Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination
• Experience working in avionics design, installation and FAA certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of FAA regulations applicable to avionics and flight controls certification efforts
• Demonstrated understanding of commercial avionics interfaces and FAA STC processes

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for FAA certification aspects of Garmin aircraft projects coordinating with FAA, Garmin groups and customers
• Lead the development and certification of complex STC designs including installation interconnects and safety considerations
• Create or review STC certification plans, applicable FAA regulations, and certification basis
• Prepare and review test reports, analyses, and other compliance data for projects of medium complexity
• Act as project lead or certification lead for medium complexity or significant redesigns of STC projects
• Maintain solid understanding of STC certification processes and related regulations
• Create or revise procedures and define project documentation structure
• Coordinate with customers to align expectations and with internal teams to meet goals
