Job summary

ACET, Incorporated in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking an entry-to-mid-level Aircraft Survival Equipment Technician I to support organizational-level (O-Level) Aviation Life Support Systems maintenance for the F/A-18 variants assigned to NAS JRB Fort Worth.

Operating under the close supervision of senior technicians and shop leads, you will assist in inspecting, maintaining, fitting, and repairing survival equipment, flight gear, and environmental systems, helping pilots stay safe and mission-ready.

Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years in aviation survival equipment (PR/ALSS) experience.
Familiarity with NAMP/COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 and oxygen-system safety protocols.
Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of military aircrew survival equipment training is highly required.
Basic sewing and use of test equipment.

Responsibilities

Assist with routine inspections, cleaning, and basic servicing of aircrew flight gear (helmets, G-suits, oxygen masks, harnesses, survival vests).
Support senior technicians in inspecting and packing survival equipment (life rafts, parachutes, survival kits).
Assist in checking oxygen systems, regulators, and LOX converters per manuals.
Use specialized test equipment to verify integrity and airtight seals.

We are seeking an entry-to-mid-level Aircraft Survival Equipment Technician I to support organizational-level (O-Level) Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) maintenance for the F/A- variants assigned to NAS JRB Fort Worth.

Responsibilities:

Survival Equipment & Flight Gear Maintenance:

Assist with routine scheduled and unscheduled inspections, cleaning, and basic servicing of aircrew flight gear, including helmets, G-suits, oxygen masks, torso harnesses, and survival vests.
Support senior technicians in inspecting and packing aircrew survival equipment such as life rafts, parachutes, and survival kits.
Assist in checking oxygen systems, regulators, and liquid oxygen (LOX) converters following precise maintenance manuals.
Utilize specialized test equipment to verify the integrity and airtight seals of oxygen equipment and flight gear garments.

Documentation & Shop Safety:

Log daily maintenance actions, inspections, and equipment serialization accurately within military electronic tracking software (NALCOMIS / OOMA).
Help verify that life-limited survival items (pyrotechnics, batteries, shelf-life items) are tracked and swapped out before expiration dates.
Adhere strictly to the squadron's Tool Control Program (TCP) by participating in mandatory toolbox inventories at the start and end of every shift.
Enforce Foreign Object Damage (FOD) mitigation rules and safely handle hazardous materials or low-grade pyrotechnics associated with survival gear.

Workcenter & Flight Line Support:

Provide custom fitting support for pilots and aircrew under the oversight of a certified Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI).
Participate in general flight line duties, including pilot gear walk-outs, line servicing, and launch/recovery support cycles.
Maintain an immaculate, orderly work environment within the paraloft, ALSS shop, and gear storage areas.

Qualifications:

Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of military or commercial aviation survival equipment (PR / ALSS) experience, ideally working with military tactical jets or similar aviation settings.
Basic understanding of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP / COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series) and oxygen system safety protocols.
Tools: Basic familiarity with sewing machines, pressure test sets, multi-meters, and standard hand tools.
Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access base facilities and flight line networks.
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of military aircrew survival equipment training (e.g., USN/USMC PR "A" school or equivalent) is highly required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience handling or inspecting oxygen equipment specific to the F/A-18 Hornet platform.
Basic understanding of parachute packing loops and safety-of-flight inspection checkpoints.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver equipment boxes or survival components weighing up to 50 pounds.
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills required for intricate tasks like sewing, handling fine wiring, and inspecting safety pins.
Physical capability to bend, kneel, reach overhead, and stand for long periods inside or around aircraft cockpits.
Resilience to work in both a climate-controlled paraloft and an outdoor flight line subject to extreme North Texas seasonal weather and high noise environments.
