Job summary

DAS Aviation is seeking a qualified Structures Technician to contribute to airframe sheet metal work with emphasis on drilling, riveting, cutting and assembly.

You will read blueprints, follow procedures, and work under supervision to ensure safety and quality across shop operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of sheet metal or fabrication processes such as forming, drilling, riveting, cutting.
  • Reading blueprints and working from drawings to support airframe components.
  • Ability to follow procedures, maintain quality, and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe components.
  • Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening and finish materials as required.
  • Maintain, clean, and repair shop facilities, equipment and tooling.
  • Operate shop equipment (brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, hand tools).
  • Follow FAA guidelines and safety rules; communicate with team effectively.

What you can expect as a Structures Technician at DAS Aviation:

As Sheetmetal Technician, each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth. You will need to have a basic to advanced knowledge of aircraft structures, reading blueprints, working from drawings, fastening systems, procedures and techniques.

You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including
  • Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe components.
  • Application and removal of sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.
  • Maintenance, cleaning and repair of shop facilities, equipment and tooling when required.
  • Safely operate shop equipment such as: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions
  • Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Your Education

A High school diploma or equivalent. Airframe and Powerplant License is not required, but welcome. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Your Experience

Knowledge of sheet metal or fabrication processes (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing and dimpling)

Journeyman: 0-5 years of experience as sheet metal technician.

Master: 5+ years’ experience as a sheet metal technician.

Your Initiative

We’re looking for team players who are self‑motivated and able to perform in a fast‑paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.

Your Sense Of Responsibility

Attend work every day as scheduled; opportunities to work overtime as workflow permits.

Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.

Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.

Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.

Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.

Maintain customer oriented work habits.

Other Particulars
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifts 50 lbs.
  • Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
  • Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
  • Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements

Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.

Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.

Work with others in a professional manner.

Supervision

Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in controlled environments in industrial warehouses.

Multiple Departments to include : Teardown/Evaluation, Nacelle and heavy structural repairs, light structures repair on components.

Equipment Used

Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.

Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment.
