Job summary

Rio Staffing LLC. is seeking a Design Engineering Manager for Aircraft Structures and FAR Certification in Albany, GA. The role leads the design engineering department to ensure airworthiness, safety, and timely production releases, serving as the bridge between design, manufacturing, and regulatory authorities.

You will balance strategic planning with hands-on engineering leadership, mentor staff, and manage budgets while coordinating with FAA/DER interfaces and cross-functional leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 5+ years with a Master’s degree.
• 5+ years of explicit supervisory or management experience in engineering.
• Hands-on experience with FAR Part 23 or Part 25 airworthiness standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations for the design engineering division.
• Develop, monitor and maintain detailed engineering master schedules across design, stress, testing and manufacturing.
• Present roadmaps, resource allocations and progress metrics to leadership.
• Lead airworthiness certification interfaces with the FAA and DERs.
• Drive continuous process improvements for accuracy and throughput in engineering.
