Job summary

Aircraft Structures Group in Savannah, GA is seeking a full-time Aircraft Structure Mechanic to perform structural repairs and modifications on customer aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and customer requirements.

Daily tasks include inspecting airframes for damage, removing and installing structural components, working around fuel tanks, using hand and power tools, and interpreting technical drawings and maintenance manuals.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, structural repair documents, and engineering drawings.
• Experience using hand and power tools for sheet metal and structural repairs.
• Experience with aircraft structures, materials, fastening systems, and corrosion prevention practices.
• Understanding FAA Part 145 requirements, aviation safety procedures, and quality control practices.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and ability to follow work instructions and repair procedures.
• Ability to work on-site in hangar and ramp environments, including confined spaces such as fuel tanks.
• Effective teamwork and communication with technicians, inspectors, and customers.
• Relevant technical training or certification in aviation maintenance; A&P certificate preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in aircraft structural repair or related aviation maintenance roles is highly beneficial.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift moderate weights, and work at heights or in confined spaces with safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect airframes for damage and wear, document findings.
• Remove and install structural components as required.
• Work around fuel tanks and in confined spaces.
• Use hand and power tools and consult maintenance manuals and drawings.
• Document all work and coordinate with supervisors and quality inspectors.
• Maintain safety and adherence to procedures in hangar and ramp environments.
• Support AOG situations as needed.
