Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah is seeking an Apprentice Structural Mechanic to join the manufacturing team. This entry-level role provides structured development in structural assembly, fitting, drilling, and riveting under close supervision.

You will work on the shop floor during first shift, learn from experienced technicians, and progressively take on more complex tasks as you gain proficiency. Strong reading, writing, and English communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Entry level position with training.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills including reading, writing, speaking English, listening, and keyboard skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in fitting of detail parts and basic drilling and riveting using hand tools.
• Ensure work content meets instructions from manufacturing staff and Quality Control.
• Read work orders, blueprints, and spec sheets to determine operation sequence and requirements.
• Align and assemble parts to be riveted using fixtures, pins, clamps and fasteners.
• Observe procedures and gain experience with decreasing supervision over time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
