STS Technical Services

is hiring Aircraft Sheet Metal Technicians in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Job Overview:

This position requires a basic knowledge of turbine aircraft structures and related systems. The job includes mastery of all basic metal functions with hand and power tools common to the aircraft sheet metal trade, as well as understanding of blueprints, quality control, and regulatory requirements. Job duties will vary daily and are designated by the Team Leader. May require working independently or leading small projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend work as scheduled, including overtime and weekends. Notify supervisor in advance if unable to work.
  • Have reliable transportation to work daily.
  • Perform all work following FAA guidelines.
  • Follow all safety and company rules.
  • Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
  • Uphold quality standards and follow sheet metal procedures.
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A&P License preferred.
  • Valid driver's license for airline travel and/or valid passport.
  • 2-5 years aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
  • 2 years experience in aircraft sheet metal.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work at a fast pace.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Understand and follow regulations and guidelines.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical activities include walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and repetitive motions.
Supervision:
  • Work under the supervision of a Team Leader and Director of Maintenance.
  • Coordinate with a Crew Leader for daily tasks.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily in a heated hangar.
  • Occasional outdoor work.
  • Varied positions around aircraft.
  • Use of ladders and elevated work stands may be required.
Equipment Used:
  • Personal hand tools.
  • Pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical equipment.
  • Jacks, stands, lifts, and support devices.
  • Tugs, power carts, and engine-powered equipment.
