Job summary

V2X is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic II (SMM) to perform full-range sheet metal duties on F-18 aircraft, including disassembly, repair, and reassembly of metal structures and components. The role requires precision, ability to read blueprints and technical manuals, and adherence to strict tolerances.

Responsibilities include repairing and modifying airframes, applying technical knowledge to diagnose malfunctions, and fabricating parts per specifications while maintaining quality and safety

Qualifications

• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities with customers.
• Experience with documentation, procedures, and blueprints is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Must perform all duties related to aircraft sheet metal support on F-18 Naval Type Model Series aircraft.
• Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and components of moderate to complex difficulty.
• Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to identify malfunctions.
• Applies expertise to restore component condition and operation from documentation and drawings.
• Interprets blueprints, sketches, and specifications to solve problems and plan work.
• Manufactures and installs new parts and repairing/patching defective parts using riveting and fastening techniques.
