Job summary

Textron Aviation is hiring a Sheet Metal Technician in Indianapolis, IN. The role involves fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal for general aviation aircraft.

You will set up and operate fabrication machines, align parts per blueprints, and ensure smooth joints using rivet guns and screws. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of aviation sheet metal experience, with familiarity of FAA guidelines and corrosion procedures.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience.
• Familiarity with FAA AC 43.13-1B helpful.
• Knowledge of corrosion types and removal procedures helpful.
• Wash etch, Alodine, and primer application helpful.
• Ability to identify rivets, bolts, screws, nuts and washers.

Responsibilities

• Determine project requirements and assembly sequences from blueprints.
• Lay out sheet metal parts per drawings and instructions.
• Rivet and remove sheet metal components using suitable tools.
• Bend, form, drill metals and ensure precise fabrication.
• Prepare holes and countersink, dimple, and deburr.
