Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is seeking a sealing specialist within the Defense Business Unit. The role involves applying sealants and related processes to fuel cell and wing section components, following strict drawings and specifications.

The position requires a U.S. Secret Security clearance and ability to work 1st or 2nd shifts, with potential weekend work. A union-represented environment and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (required).
• Eligibility for DoD clearance in addition to program clearance.
• Willing to work 1st and 2nd shifts, including some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Seal, fillet and fay, cap seal, brush coat and apply sealants to major assemblies and sub-assemblies per drawings and specs.
• Perform data gathering transactions to support sealer progression and ensure quality requirements are met.
• Use measuring instruments to accomplish work assignments and document discrepancies per procedures.
• Support continuous flow by training and assisting colleagues across classifications.
• Identify issues in procedures, tools or sequences and report deviations.
