Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., Spirit Defense, is seeking a sealing technician to join the defense manufacturing team. You will apply sealants, read blueprints and process specs, and ensure products meet tight quality requirements on major assemblies and sub-assemblies.

This union-represented role requires ability to work 1st or 2nd shifts, in a factory environment with lifting, standing on concrete floors, and occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required.
• Eligible to apply for, obtain, and maintain DoD clearance in addition to customer program clearance.
• Willing and able to work 1st and 2nd shifts, including weekends.
• Able to work on concrete floors, uneven surfaces, confined spaces, and climb stairs/scaffolding.
• Able to lift/move parts and/or tools.

Responsibilities

• Seal, fillet and seal major assemblies and sub-assemblies per drawings and specs.
• Follow processes and procedures to meet quality control requirements.
• Complete data gathering to support sealer progression.
• Perform pickup, rework, fabrication, and checks during seal progression.
• Use measuring instruments to accomplish tasks.
• Document discrepancies per specification and procedure.
• Train and assist other employees to keep production moving.
