Textron Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter (ARFF) for a 5th shift to respond to aircraft emergencies, provide rescue and firefighting services, and administer immediate medical care as needed.   • Must successfully complete all training and obtain all required permits, licenses and certifications for the site
  • Experience as a firefighter is preferred
  • Requires certifications & license: NFPA Firefighter 1 & 2; EMT license

JOB SUMMARY:

The Aircraft Rescue Firefighter (ARFF) is primarily responsible for responding to aircraft emergencies, performing rescue and firefighting tasks. Also responsible for emergency response for areas under the control of the company as needed. The ARFF will be skilled in operating firefighting equipment, conducting rescue operations, and providing immediate medical assistance while maintaining effective communication during emergencies. The ARFF will be proactive and interact with other company employees, contractors, customers, and regulatory agencies in a positive and professional manner at all times.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Emergency response to aircraft incidents and fires using specialized firefighting and rescue techniques

  • Emergency response to structural incidents and fires using specialized firefighting and rescue techniques

  • Emergency response to provide emergency medical assistance

  • Maintenance to firefighting equipment to include but not limited to apparatus, gear and tools

  • Participate in after action briefings to improve future responses

  • Prepare and present reports as needed

  • Complete regular inspections as required by NFPA, insurance provider, and company

  • Coordinate day to day activities with all onsite Security and Fire personnel

  • May be responsible for structured on the job training activities with new team members

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
  • Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Bachelor’s degree in Fire Services, Emergency Management or related degree preferred.

  • Must successfully complete all training and obtain all required permits, licenses and certifications for the site

EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience as a firefighter is preferred

  • Requires the below certifications & license:

  • NFPA Firefighter 1 & 2 Certification

  • Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s license

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include some weekends and holidays

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors and the public

  • Ability to read, write, type, and communicate effectively

  • Must have the ability to work under pressure exercising good judgement in both emergency and non-emergency situations

  • Ability to multitask effectively in a high pace environment

  • Ability to use multiple software platforms including but not limited to the Microsoft Office Suite and report management platforms

  • Ability to complete ARFF Certification defined by company within 6 months of hire

  • Ability to obtain and maintain ICT airport badge
