Job summary

V2X seeks a skilled Aircraft Painter to coat surfaces on aircraft and support equipment, prepare surfaces, mask areas, apply paints, and inspect finished work for quality and corrosion control. The role requires compliance with maintenance manuals, TDs, and safety rules, plus relevant corrosion and painting certifications and DoD CAC eligibility. A valid state driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must have Aircraft Corrosion (N-701-0013 or C-600-3183) and Aircraft Paint Touch-Up and Markings (N-701-0014 or C-600-3182, or equivalent certification).
• Must have a minimum of HS diploma or equivalent.
• In the past six (6) years, must have three (3) years of experience in one of the following, (1) Corrosion identification, removal, treatment, and preservation on aircraft and aircraft components, (2) Equivalent civilian painting experience, (3) Documented completion of OJT syllabus for T/M/S (Type/Model/Series).
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) CAC (Commons Access Card)
• Must have a valid state DL

Responsibilities

• Coats surfaces of aircraft and support equipment components, accessories and related equipment, with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other materials.
• Handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.
• Inspect aircraft/support equipment, components, engines and accessories for surface integrity or corrosion products.
• Remove paint or other protective materials using approved tools and techniques.
• Prepare surface for painting.
• Masking and protection of areas not being painted.
• Coat surfaces or aircraft components, engines or aeronautical support with approved materials.
• Paint insignia, letters or numerals as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work center and area.
• Document work accomplished in appropriate logs.
