Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Painter for Army Aviation, responsible for striping and painting aircraft and related components in Hawaii. The role requires hands-on painting experience, compliance with chemical handling and PPE protocols, and coordination with maintenance for aircraft preparation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, rudimentary military training preferred, and the ability to pass PPE/respirator physicals plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Actual and recent hands-on experience in painting aircraft, equipment, and surfaces.
• Knowledge of preparation and painting of aircraft and related components.
• Knowledge of military publications, diagrams and forms is mandatory.
• Must wear proper PPE and meet PPE/respirator physical requirements.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Coat aircraft and equipment with paint, lacquer, epoxy, or other materials using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other devices.
• Remove old paint using remover, scraper, and plastic media blasting.
• Smooth surfaces with sandpaper and steel wool; roughen aluminum for paint adhesion.
• Mask surfaces not to be painted; apply insignia, letters, or numerals with stencils.
• Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
