Job summary

Boeing in North Charleston, SC is seeking an Aircraft Painter to support the Decorative Paint Team on a variable shift. You will prepare exterior surfaces, lay out patterns, and apply primers, paints and finishes to aircraft exteriors.

This 100% onsite role requires painting experience, safety gear use, and physical tasks such as climbing and lifting. Relocation is available; a competitive total rewards package is provided.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years painting experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting.
  • Must wear fall protection gear and safety equipment.
  • Able to walk, stand, climb stairs, and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.

We are currently seeking an Aircraft Painter to support the Decorative Paint Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on Variable shift.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Prepares exterior surface of aircraft for painting
  • Makes necessary patterns, performs layout and applies prescribed primers, paints and finishes to exterior of aircraft
  • Applies aircraft finishes and external markings to aircraft sections

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC (BSC).

This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Aerospace Technician and Mechanic Aptitude Virtual Job Tryout: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Availability to work variable shifts, with the understanding that your assigned shift will not be confirmed until after training
  • 1+ years of painting experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting
  • Required to wear fall protection gear, safety equipment and masks
  • Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel
  • Ability to carry/lift up to 10-35 pounds.
  • Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ year aircraft painting experience or automotive

Summary Pay Range:

  • Summary pay range level B: $55,680 - $64,000
  • Summary pay range level C: $65,280 - $67,320
