Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. seeks a skilled Aircraft Paint Technician for its Grand Junction, CO facility. This on-site, full-time role is paid hourly, ranging from $20 to $28 per hour, with a 1099 contract structure.

Responsibilities include masking, priming, painting, design layouts, and final inspection of painted surfaces. Ideal candidates will have high school diplomas (Vo-tech paint preferred) and progressive experience in aviation or related fields.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vo-tech/paint experience preferred.
• Tech levels range from I to Master Tech based on years of aviation/auto/marine paint experience.
• Maintain safety standards per FAA guidelines and company rules.
• Ability to read and follow paint layouts and design schemes.

Responsibilities

• Masking and taping aircraft parts to avoid overspray.
• Sand primer and prep surfaces for paint.
• Apply paint layers including top coat and color matching.
• Lay out stripes and design schemes; prep for trim.
• Inspect completed paint jobs and maintain paint booth.
