Job summary

West Star Aviation in Grand Junction, CO is seeking a skilled Aircraft Paint Technician for the 2nd shift to apply primer, base coats and finishes on aircraft interiors and exteriors. The role suits hands-on creatives who protect quality and safety in a fast-paced MRO environment.

The position offers a 3-day weekend option, a 10–15% shift premium, paid lunch, on-the-job training, and opportunities to transfer to 1st shift after three years, with comprehensive benefits and a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Vo-tech in paint preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or valid passport ideal.

Responsibilities

• Masking and taping aircraft parts to avoid overspray.
• Sanding primer and cleaning aircraft.
• Applying all layers of paint, including base coats and top coats.
• Laying out stripe and design schemes; prep and scuff paint for trim.
• Inspect completed paint jobs and maintain safe working practices.
