Job summary

NORDAM is seeking a Painter Assistant to prepare parts for primer and paint, assist in painting operations, and polish aluminum aircraft skins to achieve the specified finish. The role supports basic production procedures and works in a first-shift, aerospace environment.

Responsibilities include surface prep, sanding, masking, and applying sealants under supervision, following work orders, using PPE, and maintaining environmental and safety standards while learning on the job.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use small hand tools and machinery.
• Respirator training, certification and fit test.
• Pulmonary function test is required.
• Jaeger color perception eye test.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine parts preparation and polishing operations and participates in developmental learning assignments.
• Reads, learns and interprets specifications and work scope shown in writing on work orders.
• Prepares parts for paint application by hand or machine sanding, filing, caulking, sealing and cleaning.
• Performs masking operations and assists with mixing paint, sealant and other materials when required.
