Job summary

Delta Air Lines is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Surface Coat Technician– Engine to join the TechOps team. You will repair and restore engine parts to Delta, OEM, and FAA specifications while working within cross-functional shop teams.

The role requires reading complex technical manuals, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. A residency of 24 months is required, and a valid US work authorization is a must.

  • Comply with Delta and FAA specifications and maintain process standards.

How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)

The Aircraft Maintenance Surface Coat Technician– Engine is a critical TechOps role at Delta. This position is part of a team working alongside Aviation Maintenance Technicians and other skilled technicians such as welders and machinists to repair and or restore engine parts to their original serviceable condition per Delta, OEM, and FAA specifications, and Delta process Standards.

Summary Of Responsibilities (not Comprehensive Of All Tasks)
  • Works in a safe, timely and defect-free manner to meet established turn-time goals in support of Engine, Landing Gear, APU, Component, Hangar and Thrust Reverser operations.
  • Works any assigned shift in a 24-hour, 7-day operation and must be willing to work alternate shifts, off-days, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Performs functions, tasks, and duties which may vary depending upon job assignment and operational requirements, but could include Blending, Vibratory Polish, Coating, Ovens, Braze, FIC/VPA, and Plasma.
  • Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
  • Must be able to use machines and equipment common to aviation shops/offices, adjust settings or controls to produce changes in equipment or materials such that the output conforms to set standards or tolerances and must pass pre-aptitude tests.
  • Must be able to read and write at a level to comprehend and apply information contained in detailed and complex technical manuals, procedural manuals, blueprints, etc. with little or no assistance.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to practice safe work habits as evidenced through behavior and attitude.
  • Must meet the physical requirements which include the ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • There is a residency requirement of 24 months for the position.
  • (If transferring internally)Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
  • Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

An Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is preferred, but not required
