Job summary

Avcon Industries, Inc. in New Century, KS is seeking an Aircraft Modification Mechanic to support complex modifications on business jets. You will interpret blueprints and perform structural repairs using sheet metal tools to install pods, racks, and mission equipment, ensuring compliance with FAA standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with aircraft modifications, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or within a small team in a busy hangar environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in aircraft structural repairs and modifications.
• Ability to read and interpret aircraft blueprints.
• Familiarity with Turbo Prop aircraft (King Air, Cessna Caravan) desired.

Responsibilities

• Identify equipment locations to be removed for modification.
• Follow blueprints to perform structural aircraft modifications.
• Perform sheet metal riveting, cutting, bending, and painting as needed.
• Reinstall removed equipment to reinstate aircraft worthiness.
• Maintain a safe working environment and communicate with the team.
