Job summary

M1 Support Services is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and component removal/installation using technical data and schematics. You will conduct inspections, servicing, and engine removal/installation while ensuring safety, FOD prevention, tool control, and environmental program compliance.

The role requires knowledge of jet aircraft systems, proficiency with hand tools, and the ability to read and interpret complex technical data.

Qualifications

  • 18 months of general aircraft maintenance experience required.
  • One year in past three years on applicable aircraft or completion of a specific aircraft familiarization course is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data is required.
  • Valid driver’s license is necessary to obtain flight line driving privileges.
  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

  • Use schematics, drawings, charts and technical publications to remove/install engines and components.
  • Comply with FOD prevention, safety, tool control, and environmental programs.
  • Perform aircraft conditional inspections and servicing tasks.
  • Operate ground support equipment and document discrepancies.
  • Maintain maintenance records in line with USAF and company directives.
  • Order parts and supplies as needed.
  • Follow all technical data, manuals and maintenance directives.
  • Participate in towing/movement of aircraft during maintenance.

Job Summary

M1 Support Services' Aircraft Mechanic performs aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, and componentremoval/installation using technical data, schematics, and applicable directives. Conducts inspections, servicing,and engine removal/installation while ensuring compliance with safety, FOD prevention, tool control, andenvironmental programs. Operates ground support equipment, supports aircraft movement, and maintainsaccurate maintenance documentation to meet USAF and company requirements.

Primary responsibilities
  • Uses schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publication in operating, testing removing,troubleshooting and replacing aircraft system components to include remove and install engines asrequired.
  • Complies with the requirements of the FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental andsafety programs.
  • Performs aircraft conditional inspections.
  • Performs all required aircraft servicing tasks.
  • Operates ground support equipment and documents/reports discrepancies prior to use.
  • Performs all tasks associated with ground movement of aircraft.
  • Completes all necessary manual and automated records required by USAF and Company directives.
  • Orders parts and supplies as needed.
  • Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Participates in towing and movement of aircraft in performing maintenance activities.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A working knowledge of jet aircraft systems and of the use of common aircraft hand tools andspecial tools is required. A working knowledge of aircraft maintenance safety requirements andthe operation of portable fire- fighting equipment are required.
  • Completion of high school or the equivalent is required. Completion of specialized courses isdesired.
  • The ability to read and write and to comprehend technical data is required.
  • Eighteen (18) months of general aircraft maintenance experience is required. One (1) yearexperience in the past three (3) calendar years' on applicable aircraft or completion of a specificaircraft familiarization course is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's licence is necessary to obtain flight line driving privileges.
Working Conditions
  • Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line and requires extensive climbing,standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties.
  • Normal color vision is required.
  • A physical is required for personnel working in fuel cell maintenance. Must be able to enter thesmallest cell opening, must be able to become qualified for and use a respirator.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
