Job summary

M1 Support Services, LP, located near Westlake, TX, is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic for the Sheppard AFB, TX location. This full-time, non-exempt role on 2nd shift involves troubleshooting and repairing jet aircraft systems, performing inspections, and coordinating parts and servicing in accordance with USAF directives.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, specialized courses, 18+ months of aircraft maintenance experience, and a valid driver's license to obtain flight line

Qualifications

• Knowledge of jet aircraft systems and use of common aircraft hand tools.
• Understanding of aircraft maintenance safety requirements and portable fire-fighting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow schematic diagrams, drawings, and technical publications to operate, test, troubleshoot, and replace aircraft system components.
• Perform aircraft servicing tasks and ground movement duties; document discrepancies before use.
• Operate ground support equipment and complete required records per USAF and company directives.
• Conduct aircraft conditional inspections and ensure compliance with FOD prevention, housekeeping, and tool control standards.
• Order parts and supplies as needed and follow maintenance directives and manuals.
• Participate in towing and movement of aircraft during maintenance activities.

Job Summary:

M1 is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic with the following knowledge and experience:

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Uses schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publication in operating, testing removing, troubleshooting and replacing aircraft system components to include remove and install engines as required.
• Complies with the requirements of the FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs.
• Performs aircraft conditional inspections.
• Performs all required aircraft servicing tasks.
• Operates ground support equipment and documents/reports discrepancies prior to use.
• Performs all tasks associated with ground movement of aircraft.
• Completes all necessary manual and automated records required by USAF and Company directives.
• Orders parts and supplies as needed.
• Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Participates in towing and movement of aircraft in performing maintenance activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

Knowledge:

• A working knowledge of jet aircraft systems and of the use of common aircraft hand tools and special tools is required. A working knowledge of aircraft maintenance safety requirements and the operation of portable fire- fighting equipment are required.

Education:

• Completion of high school or the equivalent is required. Completion of specialized courses is desired.
• The ability to read and write and to comprehend technical data is required.

Experience:

• Eighteen (18) months of general aircraft maintenance experience is required. One (1) year experience in the past three (3) calendar years' on applicable aircraft or completion of a specific aircraft familiarization course is required.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary to obtain flight line driving privileges

Working Conditions:

• Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line and requires extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties.
• Normal color vision is required.
• A physical is required for personnel working in fuel cell maintenance. Must be able to enter the smallest cell opening, must be able to become qualified for and use a respirator.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
