Job description

Global Logistics Support Services (GLSS), an S³ Inc. company, has an immediate opening for an Aircraft Mechanic II (Sheet Metal) to support ongoing projects at Vance AFB, OK.

This position offers a Hire-In Bonus of $1,000.

Description:

Applies a combination of experience to perform modifications of the T-6A aircraft, including the installation of the Automated Backup Oxygen System. Candidates must be able to prioritize workloads and lead teams through complex aircraft tasks. Mechanic IIs can inspect Mechanic IIs and I's.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and components of moderate difficulty, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  2. Utilize technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
  3. Interpret technical documentation such as blueprints and manufacturer manuals to solve moderate to complex problems.
  4. Possess thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical troubleshooting, repair procedures, and parts replacement.
  5. Have broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repairs.
  6. Maintain basic electrical knowledge and familiarity with aircraft tools like test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
  7. Work with technical publications and follow guidance from supervisors or higher-level technicians.
  8. Lead teams on complex aircraft tasks as required, and document entries in aircraft logs and records.
  9. Prioritize workload to meet project schedules.
  10. Specialize in areas such as sheet metal, electrical work, avionics, or other aircraft systems as needed.
  11. Provide own common tools and tool kit.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with electrical wiring modifications, including wiring harness installation and repair.
  • Airframes and Powerplants (A&P) certification with three or more years of experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Extensive wiring harness troubleshooting/replacement experience as an avionics technician is acceptable.
  • Experience reading detailed blueprints and instructions is desirable.
Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.
