Job summary

PCI Federal seeks a KC-130J Aircraft Mechanic II (Airframes) to perform maintenance on KC-130J airframes at VMGR-252, MCAS Cherry Point. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs across flight control, fuel, hydraulics and landing gear systems, with documentation in OOMA and adherence to naval manuals.

The role requires NAMP familiarity or equivalent, U.S. citizenship with DoD Secret clearance eligibility, and ability to inspect and sign off work across aircraft systems.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen with eligibility for a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Familiarity with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent.
• Ability to inspect and sign off work in all assigned aircraft systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and maintenance skills for KC-130J airframes.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair KC-130J airframe systems including flight control, fuel, hydraulics, refueling, landing gear and pneumatics as per naval manuals.
• Perform required inspections and authorized metal repairs.
• Document maintenance in the OOMA system.
• Screen component records for directives and ensure correct implementation.
• Provide in-depth training to squadron mechanics on systems.
• Maintain required licenses and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Act as Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) when required.

Position Title:

KC-130J Aircraft Mechanic II (Airframes)

Job Description:

• Troubleshoot and repair the following systems on the KC-130J aircraft, to include flight control, fuel, hydraulic, in-flight refueling, landing gear, and pneumatic systems in accordance with naval aviation manuals.
• Perform all required inspections on the KC-130J to the assigned systems as required by naval aviation manuals.
• Perform authorized metal repairs to aircraft in accordance with naval aviation manuals.
• Document all maintenance performed utilizing the Optimized Organization Maintenance Activity (OOMA) system.
• Screen component records for proper implementation of technical directives as required.
• Inspect the performance of maintenance, and all system related components.
• Provide in depth training to the mechanics within the squadron on all associated systems.
• Obtain and maintain all required support equipment licenses to perform assigned maintenance task.
• Performs as a skilled Airframes Mechanic at VMGR-252 aboard MCAS Cherry Point with a diverse and knowledgeable background maintaining KC-130 aircraft system components for the Customer; perform scheduled and unscheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting repair and servicing or related structures of the KC-130 aircraft.
• Inspects, maintains, repairs and services aircraft components including, but not limited to engines, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of aircraft systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
• Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers manuals / specifications.
• Perform other qualified duties as required and to assist other work centers as required which could include troubleshooting, repairing, servicing, and maintaining airframe, hydraulic, pneumatic, flight control, and landing gear systems.
• Perform inspections and duties as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) as required.
• Shall have the ability to perform complex O-level maintenance actions.
• Must possess a level of experience necessary to inspect and sign off work in all assigned aircraft systems.
• Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent.
• Be a U.S. citizen with eligibility for a DoD Secret Clearance.
• If a Veteran, must have earned an honorable discharge (preferred) but no less than a General discharge under Honorable conditions.
• Possess a good knowledge of squadron organization and functions and be able to communicate,

And interact effectively with others.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
• Possess a valid state driver's license, obtain, and maintain base access.

Physical Demands:

• This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. Normal color perception required. While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and to talk or hear.
• Work Environment (ADA): May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flightline that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable.
