Job summary

Adams Communication & Engineering Technology (ACET), Incorporated is hiring an entry-to-mid-level Aircraft Mechanic I – Ordnance Team Member in Fort Worth, TX. You will support organizational-level aviation ordnance operations for F/A-18 variants, under supervision, to ensure safe loading, arming, and maintenance of aircraft armament and related systems.

You will follow explosive safety criteria, log tasks in NALCOMIS/OOMA, and adhere to tool control procedures while working on the flight line

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of aviation maintenance experience (military or commercial).
• DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; military ordnance school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safe loading, unloading, and positioning of aviation ordnance and missiles on F/A-18 aircraft.
• Assist with installation, removal, and cleaning of bomb racks and launchers under supervision.
• Support routine inspections, corrosion control, and minor servicing of armament suspension equipment.

The Position:

We are seeking an entry-to-mid-level Aircraft Mechanic I – Ordnance Team Member to support organizational-level (O-Level) aviation ordnance operations for the F/A-18 variants assigned to NAS JRB Fort Worth.

Operating under the direct supervision and guidance of the Ordnance Team Lead and CDI/QASO personnel, you will assist with the safe loading, unloading, arming, de-arming, and maintenance of aircraft armament, weapon release systems, and explosive devices. This position provides a direct track for developing GovCon technical experience while strictly adhering to military explosive safety criteria.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the safe loading, unloading, and positioning of aviation ordnance, ammunition, and guided missiles onto F/A-18 aircraft utilizing specialized bomb lifts and loading equipment.
• Support the installation, removal, and cleaning of aircraft bomb racks, ejector racks, missile launchers, and M61A1 gun subsystems under direct supervision.
• Assist senior mechanics in performing routine scheduled inspections, corrosion control, and minor hardware servicing on armament suspension equipment.
• Participate in pre-flight and post-flight checks of weapons systems to ensure mechanical connections and safety pins are secure.

Explosive Safety & Shop Compliance

• Maintain 100% compliance with the military Explosive Handling Qualification and Certification Program and instantly flag any safety deviations to the shop supervisor.
• Adhere strictly to the squadron's Tool Control Program (TCP) by conducting mandatory tool box inventories before and after every maintenance shift.
• Log basic maintenance tasks, parts usage, and inspections within military electronic logbooks (NALCOMIS/OOMA) as directed.
• Enforce Foreign Object Damage (FOD) mitigation rules and support hazardous material handling protocols in the ordnance workspace.
• Assist with flight line launch and recovery cycles, including mechanical system arming/de-arming sequences under the supervision of a certified QASO.
• Help maintain a pristine and orderly work environment within the ordnance shop, magazine storage sites, and flight line staging areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of military or commercial aviation maintenance experience, preferably within an aviation ordnance (AO / I-Level or O-Level) or weapons-handling setting.
• Basic familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent military weapon safety handling frameworks.
• Basic proficiency with standard hand tools, torque wrenches, and ordnance ground support handling equipment.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access classified flight line networks and explosive storage areas.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from a military aviation ordnance technical school (e.g., USN/USMC AO "A" school or equivalent) is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working on F/A-18 Legacy or Super Hornet armament platforms.
• Familiarity with ordnance electronic test sets and wiring circuit safety checks.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely lift, maneuver, and position components or loading gear weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Physical capability to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in tight or overhead positions underneath tactical aircraft wing pylons.
• Visual acuity and physical coordination required to handle sensitive mechanical linkages and safety hardware safely.
• Resilience to work outdoors on an active flight line under extreme North Texas summer heat, winter cold, and high noise environments.
