Job description

What You'll Work On

Pay: $180,000-$220,000 per year

Join Hawaii’s Premier Mobile Aircraft Maintenance Team

PMX Aviation Services LLC is seeking an experienced FAA A&P Mechanic / Pilot to join our statewide Aircraft on Ground (AOG) response team in Hawaii.

This is not a traditional hangar job.

Our technicians operate in a fast-paced field environment supporting aircraft throughout the Hawaiian Islands and, when required, across the Pacific. Every day is different, and our technicians are trusted to troubleshoot problems, make sound maintenance decisions, and get aircraft back in the air.

The ideal candidate is both an experienced corporate aircraft technician and a certificated pilot.

While aircraft maintenance is your primary responsibility, PMX operates company aircraft to rapidly move technicians, tools, parts, equipment, and other mission-critical resources between the Hawaiian Islands. The ability to think and operate as both a mechanic and a pilot is a major part of what makes our AOG model unique.

What You'll Work On

Our primary focus is business aviation, including:

  • Gulfstream aircraft
  • Bombardier Challenger aircraft
  • Bombardier Global aircraft
  • Dassault Falcon aircraft

But our work doesn't stop there.

PMX regularly supports turboprops, helicopters, piston aircraft, military operations, specialty aircraft, and other aircraft requiring maintenance support throughout Hawaii.

If it flies and a customer needs help, there is a good chance we'll be involved.

What We Offer
  • $180,000-$220,000 annual compensation
  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
  • Significant overtime opportunities
  • Premium compensation for after-hours, weekends, federal holidays, and extended-duty callouts
  • 30 days of Paid Time Off beginning on your date of hire
  • Company-provided work truck
  • Company-subsidized housing
  • Relocation assistance for qualified candidates
  • Company-provided specialty tools and equipment
  • Factory and OEM training opportunities
  • Statewide travel throughout the Hawaiian Islands
  • Opportunities to support aircraft throughout the South Pacific and East Asia
  • Access to PMX company aircraft used to deploy technicians, tools, equipment, and parts throughout Hawaii
  • Small, highly experienced team with direct access to company leadership
Responsibilities

You will be expected to:

  • Respond to AOG maintenance events throughout Hawaii
  • Troubleshoot complex aircraft systems independently
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • Perform inspections and aircraft repairs
  • Coordinate directly with aircraft owners, operators, flight crews, OEM technical support, and PMX dispatch
  • Produce accurate FAA-compliant maintenance documentation
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service
  • Travel throughout Hawaii as operational requirements dictate
  • Support aircraft throughout the South Pacific and East Asia when required
  • Maintain proficiency and eligibility as a certificated pilot
Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate
  • FAA Private Pilot Certificate or higher
  • Current FAA BasicMed qualification or FAA Medical Certificate
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport SIDA/AOA credentials
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel throughout Hawaii and the Pacific region
Preferred Qualifications

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

  • 5+ years of corporate aircraft maintenance experience
  • Previous AOG field maintenance experience
  • Gulfstream experience
  • Bombardier Challenger or Global experience
  • Dassault Falcon experience
  • Factory training on business aircraft
  • Inspection Authorization (IA)

Gulfstream experience is highly desired.

Candidates with substantial Bombardier CRJ experience are also encouraged to apply. Many CRJ systems, troubleshooting skills, and maintenance philosophies transfer well into the Bombardier business-aircraft environment.

Who Succeeds at PMX

This position is designed for an experienced technician who enjoys solving difficult problems without someone looking over their shoulder.

Successful PMX technicians are:

  • Self-motivated
  • Technically strong
  • Adaptable
  • Resourceful
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Capable of making sound decisions in the field
  • Professional when dealing directly with aircraft owners, operators, OEMs, and flight crews

You should enjoy variety, travel, troubleshooting, and responsibility.

If you're looking for a predictable schedule performing repetitive maintenance inside the same hangar every day, this probably isn't the position for you.

If you want a career where your judgment, technical ability, and professionalism directly determine whether an aircraft gets back in the air, we'd like to talk to you.

About PMX Aviation Services

PMX Aviation Services is a statewide mobile aircraft maintenance provider supporting business aviation and other aircraft throughout Hawaii and the greater Pacific region.

Instead of requiring customers to bring aircraft to a traditional maintenance facility, we bring the maintenance capability to the aircraft.

PMX maintains company aircraft, service vehicles, specialized tooling, and mobile ground-support equipment that allow our technicians to rapidly deploy throughout the Hawaiian Islands.

Our technicians work directly in the field, solving complex maintenance problems and supporting some of the world's most advanced business aircraft.

Location

Technicians dispatch directly from home and do not report to a traditional office or maintenance facility each day.

Travel throughout the Hawaiian Islands is a normal part of the position.

If you're an experienced A&P mechanic, pilot, and troubleshooter looking for something very different from traditional aircraft maintenance, we want to hear from you.

Join the team keeping Hawaii's business aviation fleet flying.
